TOPSHOP has finally arrived here in the US. The store is fantastic and is packed with the trendiest New Yorkers I have seen in ages. For the first few days there were even lines to enter. Fortunately, not while I was there on Easter Sunday. But, there were many buyers and in this economy that was a welcome sight.
The good news: The basics and trendy inexpensive things are very well designed and have very nice details, but are priced a bit higher than the competition from H&M and Forever 21.
The better news: The tailored clothing for men is exquisite. The blazers and suits feature fabrics and stitching that are impossible to find at these prices (from $140-$330). So, while at first you might be surprised that TOPMAN is charging $240 for a blazer, if you really examine the details, you will realize that it is indeed a bargain. These clothes are extremely slim and fitted. You have been warned. Did Hedi Slimane take over TOPMAN? :)
