Hermès Pointu

I keep trying on various scarves at Hermès. I like the look of a casual silk scarf knotted around the neck while wearing a button down shirt. However, all the scarves end up being too bulky after being folded over and over to create a thin strip. The 90cm classic scarves are HUGE and even the 70cm vintage silks are not really small enough. Hermès even produces some 70cm vintage scarves specifically for men. Today, I finally tried a "Pointu" or "Triangle" scarf and I was surprised at how well it worked. I suppose it can even be worn Boyscout style (with the whole triangle draped around the shoulders), but I would never do that. It is very easy to fold the top point of the triangle down and then a few more folds to create a thin strip and you just wrap it around your neck and make a knot. Sort of an ascot update or something that reminds me of a 70s gigolo. I like the luxe/low tension of this look.

This pattern is called Carre en Carre and is a collage of several different classic Hermès scarf designs.

The box, as always, is a pleasure and this one looks like it contains an Hermès pizza slice!
