Wednesday Outfit

Today, I wore my Comme des Garcons Homme Plus navy blue with white trim blazer, J. Crew lavender and white striped button down shirt, Uniqlo dark skinny jeans, Dries Van Noten silver brogues, Prada taupe belt, Hermès pocket square and Balenciaga Galet Weekender.

Monday Outfit

I'm wearing a silver Comme des Garcons Homme Plus nylon/polyurethane blazer, Alexander McQueen grey cotton shirt with grosgrain trim, Uniqlo skinny dark jeans and my taupe Prada loafers and belt. I love the grey grosgrain trim, which shows extremely well with the intentionally short cuffs of the jacket.

Marc Jacobs is still in love with Hermès

Marc arriving with Stella McCartney to the opening of the Venice Contemporary Art Centre in June 2009. He is carrying an Hermès Be-bop as a clutch. He is certainly getting a lot of mileage out of that Comme des Garcons kilt.

BLACK Comme des Garcons NOW OPEN!

Well, it has finally happened, much as I had predicted. BLACK Comme des Garcons, located at the corner of 17th Street and 10th Avenue has opened today. That is the good news. The bad news is there are no men's clothes. Ack! There are some t-shirts that I could wear in a large and I am generally a small, so those that wear a medium should fit the x-large. So much anticipation and so little satisfaction. What about us guys, Rei?

That being said, the women's clothes are classic CdG, in every New Yorker's favorite shade of, you guessed it, BLACK. Graphic T-shirts and black washed polyester, including kilt skirts, pleated shorts and riding pants. Ladies enjoy.

Comme des Garcons BLACK Update

I'll be featuring a running update along the right column of my blog with new photographs of the Comme des Garcons BLACK space as it is under construction. Here are a few shots I took on June 12th. Stayed tuned for more updates. I apologize for the poor image quality, but I was undercover.

To celebrate its 40th Anniversary, Comme des Garcons will be opening "guerilla" pop-up shops across the globe entitled BLACK. New York City will have its very own at the corner of 17th Street and 10th Avenue, just a short stroll from my apartment! BLACK will feature limited edition merchandise and will only be open for a short time. Expected opening by end of June, 2009. Other locations include Paris, London, Hong Kong and of course, Tokyo.
