Louis Vuitton Macassar Keepall

image: louisvuitton.com

I have been wanting a Louis Vuitton 45 Keepall for some time. I have two 50s (Classic Monogram and Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Original 2001 Khaki) but they are for travel exclusively and I want an LV for everyday. I've been hoping for a great deal on ebay, but I am always concerned about authenticity. But, when I noticed this new Macassar Keepall with black leather handles and trim, I really got obsessed. I love the modern update in black leather with the new burgundy interior and I think the size would work well for my daily needs. Should I splurge?

Available here for $1320 USD.

Louis Vuitton Macassar Monogram

I am sure that the Louis Vuitton Macassar Monogram collection will be arriving in stores soon. There were many pieces shown on the Fall 2009 runway, but there is still some question as to which ones will make it into production and finally to the stores. Macassar Ebony is a precious decorative wood known for its pronounced black and brown streaks. Vuitton is no doubt evoking this unique coloration with its use of black leather trim on these traditional monogram bags. Macassar Monogram gives a new edge to the traditional monogram that will be perfect for urban men everywhere. Who says you can't wear black with brown?

Vuitton Pochette Clés

I finally broke down and bought this Louis Vuitton Pochette Clés. My huge jumble of keys need a pouch before I put them in my pocket, so that they will not scratch me or my iPhone. I will see if it really ends up being a part of my daily life. Once again, why are Vespa keys so HUGE? Do keys really need to be so sharp?

Vuitton Watch Case

Oh My God. What a fabulous watch case. I can barely stand it. Now I need to get some more watches so that I may be worthy.

Vuitton Nomade Pocket Organizer

After visiting Hermès, Bottega Veneta and Loewe, I ultimately chose this gorgeous Vuitton Nomade Card Case. I love natural leathers, those that are uncoated, unstamped and treated in an old-fashioned tannery style. Cuir Nomade from Vuitton is such a skin, a vegetal tanned cowhide that will develop a patina over time. Yes, it will scratch, scuff, develop oil stains, etc. I believe all of this will contribute to the beauty of this piece as it ages. Even the signature yellow stitching of the house works with this caramel shade.

Louis Vuitton Wapity Case

I have always loved the Vuitton Wapity Case. I believe one year, I even bought one for my mother, allowing her to carry a few essentials while she wanders through the mall, while leaving her handbag in the car.

Something about this little case feels very 1970s Chic European Tourist, no? Is that a good thing?

I suppose I could use this as a camera case or just another "Small Leather Good", tucked into the bag that I carry every day. But, what I am wondering is if I would dare to use it on its own. Because I drive a Vespa, I carry quite a few keys and in my slim jeans and slim jackets, the keys + money clip + iphone + Burt's Bees Lip Balm get a bit cumbersome. Why are Vespa keys so HUGE? When I go out at night, I don't carry any other bag, so the awkward and uncomfortable keys keep bothering me.

So, I know that I am a huge proponent of Manbags. But, I have never considered a Man Clutch. Can I pull it off? Should I even try? On the French version of www.vuitton.com, this item is included in the Men's Small Leather Goods section, while being relegated to the Women's department of the US version. Does that mean that only a European man can pull it off?

I have read that Kanye West carries one attached to his belt in the Murakami Multi Color design. Is Kanye a style icon for me? Well, once in a while.

I promise not to place it on the table when I am out for dinner. Polite opinions please.
