La Société ou La Fidélité?

La Société

When choosing a restaurant in Paris, one is faced with a bewildering number of options including classic bistros and chic hot spots. Well, here are two chic hot spots for your consideration.

The almost painfully chic La Société, sits just around the corner from Café de Flore in the St. Germain. Housed in a 19th century building with an interior by Christian Liaigre, this Costes brothers owned restaurant is fantastically elegant, populated by a beautiful, well-dressed crowd. Dress to the nines and bring plenty of cash. The best lighting in Paris for an extravagant affair with your young mistress.

The overtly trendy La Fidélité, on Rue de La Fidélité in the 10th features a younger more "downtown" feel. The gorgeous and exuberant crowd will be partying all night. This is definitely a place to see and be seen. Boys, wear your deep v-neck tees and your skinny jeans. This dimly lit jewel is just the spot for some late night canoodling.

Brasserie Printemps

I was heavily influenced by brieuc75's blog about Brasserie Printemps and we went there today for lunch. The dome is absolutely beautiful and everyone should make an effort to at least see it. Lunch was delicious and the tables are cleverly mirrored to reflect the dome.

While shopping for clothes at Printemps, don't forget to ask about the 10% discount offered to "foreigners" in addition to the 12% VAT refund. The Margiela salesman was a dream. They have an extensive collection of Dries Van Noten, my favorite designer, as well.
