Shopping Spree at Bal Harbour

Well, I was a bad boi today! I convinced my friend Arjay to take a personal day to accompany me to Miami's premier shops at Bal Harbour. He was actually feeling sick but I dragged him anyways. I've been to the LV's in Saks and Neiman's but I found myself wanting more. Those were kiosk stores so I wanted the experience of a flagship. It was quite rainy and overcast but that didn't stop us! We strapped in Lizzy (my garmin) and away we went.
She was a great help in getting us there through a scenic route of Miami beach. We drove with the water to our left and colorful art deco residences lining the street. It was very LVoely!!! Once there, we made a bee-line to the welcoming arms of the Louis Vuitton Boutique! Here are a few pics of our fabulous LVoe day donning our Damier Speedy with Denim Cles and Aubergine Onatah!! More pics to come of our purchases.
Worst fear realized at Dallas Airport
I was flying from Dallas to Houston yesterday with my newly acquired Damier Vaslav. I was really happy that I got through the weekend without incident for it. Unfortunately, stupid me, I reserved a seat online at the head of the plane. I usually want to get out of the plane as soon it lands.
I didn't realize that the seat faced a wall and there was no place for me to stow my precious cargo. The plane was small and dinky and the Vaslav is too big for the overhead bin. I was horrified when I had to give up my Vaslav and almost fainted in the jetway when I saw them flinging it onto the tarmac. When I got to Houston, I promptly inspected my bag for scratches and true enough, there was a half-an-inch scratch on the canvas. It's barely noticeable because of the damier's visual pattern but still...I kept telling myself that luggage is luggage and they will eventually acquire some wear. I just didn't think it would be this soon.

Note: The Damier has 105 marking/square; brown flecks over black background. On the other hand, the light square consists of 105 light brown; 105 dark brown with a black background

Weekend getaway

Over the weekend, I was in Syracuse, New York to attend a friend of Jeff's wedding. Syracuse is pretty nice coz' I love old worn out places. After the quaint yet sweet wedding, we decided to enjoy the delights of the city by going to their local art museum, the Erie Canal Museum and the city's historic district. It so happens that Gay Pride CNY was ongoing as well as the 57th Polish festival. We spent the whole day out and it was the first time I had my lil' bag with me. The following day, we decided to tour the Syracuse University campus. With its 19th century halls combined with modern buildings dotted with a buffet of outdoor statuary, I left the University feeling contented. Enclosed is a pic of me with a bronze statue of the Supplicant Persephone by Ivan Mestrovic.
