Manolo Blahnik Spring/Summer '09

I was walking past Manolo Blahnik last weekend and I couldn't help but notice his amazing shoes. Every season he reinvents the classics with new shapes, materials and colors.

The snakeskin shoe is somewhere between a boot and a sandal. They are probably the most elegant interpretation of the gladiator sandal this season. I appreciate the combination of covered up and exposed. Safe and dangerous: for the dominatrix who is not afraid to show her delicate side.

The day-glo green strappy sandal literally glows in the sunlight. This shoe is definitely not for the shrinking violet.

The Prussian blue velvet lace up is reminiscent of the shoes of Louis XIV. For the woman who believes that in a past life she may have been a member of his court.
