St. Barth Island Charm

Well, I have totally fallen for the charms of St. Barth. This unique and beautiful island is an amazing getaway. There are essentially only boutique hotels and villas to rent. There are absolutely no large chain hotels. It is a mountainous island with breathtaking views over every hilltop. The beaches here are secluded and private without hotels or restaurants to disturb the serenity.

There is also some very serious shopping. Cartier, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Max Mara, Chopard and many others have dedicated boutiques here. The pricing is generally the same as in France and is in Euros.

While we were perusing the incredible Luxury watch selection at Diamond Genesis, I discovered the St. Barth Island bracelets that several friends of mine, who are regulars here, wear. I couldn't resist. Now I can have a memory of the island to wear every day. This bracelet is made in France of 18K gold and is, of course, in the shape of the Island of St. Barth. It is knotted on a simple nylon cord, which is available in several colors. I chose black.

St. Barth Shopping at EDGAR

We were strolling the shops of Gustavia in St. Barth when we stumbled upon a hidden gem of men's fashion called EDGAR. The store is lovely and the staff is friendly and very good looking. I bought this shirt on sale. I don't usually see Givenchy Men's Collection in New York, so it is a unique find.

The shirt is extremely thin gauzy cotton and is very fitted. The origami inspired print reminds me of my childhood obsession with the hobby and best of all it is in my favorite color combination of navy and white. I love the detail of the polka dot taping on the interior of the collar. I have always been attracted to small scale repetitive patterns, whether they are checks, stripes, plaids or origami figures.

Runway to Reality #2

O
This look is inspired by a runway look by Bottega Veneta for S/S '09 covered earlier here. My thoughts are that most of us already have items in our closet that meet our needs with only a few additions to keep them up to date.

I managed to work my J. Crew Lightweight Gingham Shirt from this season into a birthday party outfit for St. Barth. I'm also wearing my favorite Uniqlo White Slim Straight Jeans (from last Summer). I completed my look with my Hermes Orange Belt in Togo Calfskin with hammered "H" buckle in Palladium and my Hermes Izmir Sandals in Chocolate Huile Gratte Calfskin (both from last year).

Sometimes a Luxury is just a vacation with the one you love.
