Wally Hermès Yachts

From the press release:
WHY is the result of the joint-venture signed in June 2008 between Hermès and Wally, to develop a new type of motor yacht redefining the art of living on the sea. The iconic Parisian house and the iconic Monaco yacht brand formed an equal partnership whereby each company is fully involved in all aspects of the conception and design of each project. Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director of Hermès says : “When we met, in autumn 2007, Luca Bassani Antivari, President of Wally had thought about asking Hermès to accessorise the interior of one of his boats. I was impressed by the daring of his projects. My instinct was to get on board with him and go and seek out new territories in yacht design, but I had no interest in speed.” Luca Bassani Antivari explains: “What I’ve always liked about Hermès, aside from its intrinsic quality, is its audacity and radicalism; its desire to go beyond trends, to make no compromises and to maintain the authenticity of the house. Wally shares the same values, ‘Hermès-on-Land’, ‘Wally-on-Sea’: inevitably our paths had to cross.”
The common values of the two brands have led to a first yacht that offers an unparalleled living space at sea. WHY was developed to give life to this concept assembling a team of dedicated talents in design, engineering, and naval architecture. Then the tried and tested Norwegian Ramform hull characterised by exceptional and unprecedented stability and volume and spottedby Luca Bassani Antivari, revealed itself as the ideal choice to be adapted to the WHY 58x38 project. Following this unique adaptation, the decks and the interiors were developed in accordance with the fundamental credo of WHY, 'form-equals-function'. Thus were born other innovations in the world of mega yachts: patios generously flooding the interior with natural light, photovoltaic panels on the glass hull sides, as well as on the roof opening, like Venetian blinds, a 25 metre-long forward end swimming pool, and a 36-metre aftdeck beach. WHY 58x38 offers comfort, privacy, stability, space, independence and sustainability.

More Grey
I love Grey. We have two grey Italian Greyhounds and our entire apartment is done in shades of this un-color. We spent the weekend in the country with our friends and we visited Hudson, NY. Warren Street is lined with charming shops, but when I saw these sheepskin pillows in the window of Hudson Home, I couldn't resist them. They will go with everything and Eric hates the pillow currently residing on our bed anyway.

Le Jacquard Francais at Harney
We visited Millerton, NY while we were in Rhinebeck and we stopped at Harney & Sons Fine Teas. This beautiful shop has teas from around the world and smells amazing. I took home this beautiful tea towel from Le Jacquard Francais to add a pop of color to our all white kitchen. I love the chartreuse shopping bag and the darker green tissue.
Signoria Firenze at Gilt.com
in Gilt, home, Signoria Firenze
I was so excited to see Signoria Firenze on Gilt.com: my favorite Luxury linens on my favorite on-line discounter!
When we moved in to our new apartment in November 2008, I purchased a new duvet set from Signoria Firenze---a bold taupe and black stripe pattern called Mikado that suited my mood in the Fall/Winter. This Salome pattern is an incredibly soft and satiny Egyptian cotton jacquard in shades of taupe, silver and black in an abstract exotic theme. This lighter palette will brighten up our bedroom for the Spring/Summer.
Signoria Firenze combines Luxury, elegance and modernity like no other linen company in the world.

Platebowlcup by Jasper Morrison for Alessi
in home
I have been searching for the perfect espresso cup ever since my friend Roy gave me a Nespresso machine. I was determined to find something elegant and modern, yet durable. I did not want porcelain, because I wanted something with a thicker wall that would retain heat. For a while, I considered the classic Illy cups and then decided that the logo would drive me insane, especially since my machine is not an Illy.
I found these Platebowlcup Mocha cups while browsing Unicahome's website. I love Jasper Morrison and I already own his Knifeforkspoon satin flatware, coffee machine and bar stools for Cappellini, so I was familiar with his aesthetic and I was thrilled that they were so inexpensive. Cup: $6. Saucer: $5. I bought a set of four, as I have never had more than four requests for an espresso after dinner. They are in stock at the Alessi store on Greene Street.
I love the simple small squarish handle and the barely lipped saucer, which has just enough room for a sugar packet and a little cookie. They feel like they are from a very chic European airline.
