Every once in a while I come across something that is at once so familiar, yet totally of the moment. I use this criteria when I consider something iconic. This jacket is based on a military flight jacket from decades ago, adding to its iconic status. I have seen versions of this leather jacket from Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, and Veronique Branquinho in past seasons. It never seems to go away. Rather, the style is so iconic that every designer can add their own point of view. This Balmain rendition reeks of Luxury and hipness, while retaining a hard edge. Because they never truly go out of style, icons are usually wise purchases. If only it wasn't so mindblowingly expensive. $4920 USD.
